The product is suitable for use by infants from birth until 6 months of life and satisfying by itself the nutritional requirements of such infants when not breastfeed or until the introduction of appropriate complementary feeding. Breastfeeding (without adding water and other foods) is the best diet for children up to six months of age. A mother’s decision not to breastfeed her infant is harmful to her health, and when once made, the decision is difficult to change. No food, including specifically formulated products, can provide all the ingredients contained in breastmilk, which can be properly provided only by breastfeeding. This food can be used only with the advise of healthcare professionals qualified to care for the health of the infant and who are independent of manufacturers of food for babies and infants. Breastfeeding with the use of additional foods should be continued also after six months until the end of the second year of age of the child.
